Once you become a real estate agent, in many ways the level of success you’re able to attain depends heavily on you. In order to make it in real estate, you must first successfully market and brand yourself as an agent. There are a lot of different things that go into branding, and one of the first decisions you’ll need to make is in regards to your logo’s design.

Appropriate

One of the first principles of logo design is that it needs to make sense for your brand. This image is meant to convey personality, values, and purpose, all in one neat little package. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, you might be surprised. Anyone who looks at it should be able to get a sense of what you’re all about based on the imagery, color, and any typeface used. Even the tiniest changes can alter perceptions, so you’re going to want to spend some time on this.

Simple

While details certainly matter when it comes to logo design, don’t get too carried away and make it super intricate and complex. The best logos are quite simple. Just think about the Nike swoosh, the Apple apple, the McDonald’s golden arches, and Target’s target. All of these are incredibly simple designs, yet they’re incredibly effective in their simplicity. The simplicity makes it easier to accurately reproduce, lending clarity to your brand and improving engagement.

Unique

In order for your logo to really stand out, it can’t just blend in with other logos. It has to be unique. That means spending some time looking around and seeing what other logos are out there already. While you shouldn’t try to go through every single logo in existence (who has the time for that?), taking a look around can give you some ideas of what might work and what may be better to avoid. As a quick note, try to avoid things like pinwheels, swooshes, and similar designs. They tend to be pretty common and won’t help you stand out.

Your logo is one of the things that helps you stand out as a real estate agent. The most effective logos are carefully planned out and designed so that they make sense for the business they represent, are simple and easy to remember, and are unique, making it possible for you to more easily stand out from the crowd. All of those are key points of branding, with the most important being consistency. Given that, make sure your logo is something you’re going to be happy with in the years to come.
